“Dreaming for the World” is an experiment initiated in September 2025 by a group of Australian practitioners of the Embodied Imagination method of dream work.
Its aim is to process the pervading sense of despair and disruption brought about by situations of war and starvation in many parts of the world.
The project was first proposed in a meeting of Australian graduates of Jungian analyst Robert Bosnak’s course in Embodied Imagination. It was proposed that we “incubate” a dream while focussing on the “poison” that is currently pervading this time of war. We would then each work on a dream that emerged from the incubation and share the results and what evolved as time went on. It was felt that the experiment was akin to a collective prayer for peace.
The talk will introduce the Embodied Imagination method of dreamwork and describe the Dreaming for the World project – what happened and what evolved from it.
