Psychological meanings are hidden in the symbols and motifs in fairy tales like tiny nuggets of gold in alluvial sand. Exploring these meanings in an enjoyable group setting releases general and personal insights and understandings when considered through the lens of the particular psyche portrayed in the tale. The Queen Bee (Grimm No 62) is no exception to being choc-full of symbols, including the pervasive Rule of Three. Come, pan for alchemical gold with us and see what this tale reveals for you.

“In the honey, the ‘sweetness of the earths’, we can easily recognise the balsam of life that permeates all living, budding and growing things. It expresses, psychologically, the joy of life and the life urge which overcome and eliminate everything dark and inhibiting”- C.G. Jung, Mysterium Coniunctionis, CW 14, p.490
